About Us

Imex Marketing was established in the mid 1990’s when its founder had some innovative ideas about combining his ability to find export markets with the newly burgeoning technology of the Internet. By using the World Wide Web, eMail, and EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) in data sharing applications, Imex was able to help companies export to markets they had never explored or thought possible.

By the late 1990’s, Imex was offering eMarketing solutions to businesses around the world, including developing transaction processing services and, more importantly, strategic eMarketing and Planning.

It became clear by 2000 that no one really knew how to market online and most companies believed that eMarketing was simply having a website and maybe a form or two as a guestbook. The emphasis was on the technology of the web and not on understanding or applying marketing. Imex developed the first model for eMarketing, its 3E Method ©. It was the first effective model for eBusiness on the Web. Seeing the great need to see what consumers and the business community really understood about online business and eMarketing, Imex engaged in the first study of eBusiness and online shopping in Atlantic Canada. The results showed that, while consumers were frequently shopping online, the business community in Nova Scotia was out of touch with that fact. Thus, began a mission to both educate and consult companies in both the need for an effective website and the need to understand their customers in the new digital economy. And, to show companies how, through the Internet, they could not only increase their productivity and internal efficiency, they could optimize their websites to reach new markets around the world.

By 2001, Imex had participated in numerous federal studies on marketing and export, providing expertise and provided input that helped to change the way both companies and service providers thought about eMarketing and its importance to a cny company’s economic success.

In 2003, Imex was approached by Robins Consulting to provide eBusiness components to Mentoring projects they were working on through ACOA and  government departments. Imex’s 3E Method © was approved and recognized by these agencies as the first legitimate model for doing business online. Through mentoring, planning, and implementing these plans for many clients, the Imex 3E Method showed its efficacy as it was grounded in solid, fundamental principles of marketing and eBusiness.

In 2005, Imex co-founded Spheri.ca, Inc., an eBusiness research firm whose goal was to specifically research the most powerful methods of Search and Social Marketing. Through those efforts, over 100 companies around the world were propelled to online success

Today, Imex Marketing is using its decades of education and experience to continue to empower companies around the world to maximize their brand, positioning, market share, efficiency, productivity, and revenue through applying the successful 3E Model to their business. And, helping them gain a deeper understanding of what is needed to survive, and thrive, in the Digital Economy.

The founder of Imex Marketing is also an award-winning multimedia producer, with a US Film and Video Festival, Creative Excellence Award in Educational Design for Development of “The Bend in the Road – the Life and Times of Lucy Maude Montgomery” interactive multimedia title.
